“All the king’s servants who were in the king’s gate would kneel and prostrate themselves before Haman, for so had the king commanded concerning him, but Mordechai would neither kneel nor prostrate himself” Esther 3:2

“But man seeks to bow before that only which is recognized by the greater majority, if not by all his fellowmen, as having a right to be worshipped; whose rights are so unquestionable that men agree unanimously to bow down to it. For the chief concern of these miserable creatures is not to find and worship the idol of their own choice, but to discover that which all others will believe in, and consent to bow down to in a mass. It is that instinctive need of having a worship in common that is the chief suffering of every man, the chief concern of mankind from the beginning of times. It is for that universality of religious worship that people destroyed each other by sword. Creating gods unto themselves, they forthwith began appealing to each other: “Abandon your deities, come and bow down to ours, or death to ye and your idols!” And so will they do till the end of this world; they will do so even then, when all the gods themselves have disappeared, for then men will prostrate themselves before and worship some idea.” Fyodor Dostoyevsky

We will also watch this war on television

Russia, Ukraine, war

I see tanks, planes, with explosives, the terror of civilians. And I wonder: do we still need tanks when Russia, like America and China have scary nuclear arsenals? Am I witnessing a vintage invasion? Not caring about the so-called harsh sanctions from the middle of the world, except so far Israel, against the banks and Russian oligarchs, Putin will go on until the annexation of Ukraine, just the old way. He will impose yet another puppet government, using cynical speeches about Ukrainian Nazis. And we will also watch this war on television.

I believe that the happiness enjoyed in childhood and the love of the good object that enriches personality are the foundation of the ability to enjoy and sublimate. The first happy relationship with the mother mitigates hatred and distress. Melanie Klein, Envy and Gratitude, 1957

Audre Lorde

“Trying to see you

my eyes grow

confused

it is not your face

they are seeking

fingering through your spaces

like a hungry child

even now

I do not want

to make a poem

I want to make you

more and less

a part

from myself”

We alone can devalue gold

by not caring

if it falls or rises

in the marketplace.

wherever there is gold

there is a chain, you know,

and if your chain

is gold

so much the worse

for you.

Feathers, shells

and sea-shaped stones

are all as rare.

This could be our revolution:

to love what is plentiful

as much as

what’s scarce.

So Watt never saw Mr Knott, never never saw Mr Knott

Knott’s bowl 2022

“This dish was served to Mr Knott, cold, in a bowl, at twelve o’clock noon sharp and at seven p.m. exactly, all the year round.

That is to say that Watt carried in the bowl, full, to the dining-room at those hours, and left it on the table. An hour later he went back and took it away, in whatever state Mr Knott had left it. If the bowl still contained food, then Watt transferred this food to the dog’s dish. But if it was empty, then Watt washed it up, in readiness for the next meal.

So Watt never saw Mr Knott at mealtime. For Mr Knott was never punctual, at his meals. But he was seldom later than twenty minutes, or half an hour. And whether he emptied the bowl, or did not, it never took him more than five minutes to do so, or seven minutes at the outside. So that Mr Knott was never in the dining-room when Watt brought in the bowl, and he was never there either when Watt went back, to take the bowl away. So Watt never saw Mr Knott, never never saw Mr Knott, at mealtime.”

Herzog, Lotte Eisner

When I look at you

A reed smell comes to me

Thin periscope

Discreet among all the chirping and bird songs

It’s all about echolocation

Tonight

I wanted to let the sky enter my foundations

Widen the walls

Surprise the slow sway of the branches in the wind

Everything changed

My building no longer needs columns or a water jet

I started looking for air holes that would break the sonorous magma of the city

The envelope of my building is no longer an envelope.

The walls are no longer walls

I told you about Herzog’s diary

How he had undertaken a twenty two days march from Munich to Paris

Against the fate of the imminent death of Lotte Eisner

Haw at the end he walks into the sick room declaring

Open the window for the past few days I have been able to fly

So do I

Variety of meanings

Cristina Nadal, Federico Fellini, Max Ernst

Feeling nostalgic today. Longing for the past. Not mine but ours. We have fallen into an eternal present where everything that happens is obsessively ′′ cartographed “. The chance to process has vanished as time has vanished, losing the ability to transform into memory. Every fact equals another. In the background there is insisting an endless comment and the feeling is that it’s an empty talk, which never really exists, since there’s no longer a real object of conversation, of comparison. There are no longer events that surpass us and on the track of which we are stubbornly standing. Nothing that deserves to be archived in the remittance of Memory and History.

And then, inevitably, I remember the last Fellini, the one of the moon’s voice, when the naive protagonist, melancholy poet and in love, summarily says: ′′ Yet I believe that if there was a bit of silence, everyone Let’s keep quiet, maybe we can understand something “.
