Edward Bernstein said :”Die bevegung ist alles, das ziel ist nichts “ = The movement is everything, the goal is nothing. The goal was obviously a socialist society. By calling it “nothing” he didn’t mean to dismiss it. Not at all ! He simply wanted to emphasize the improbability of its attainment. Every attempt to found an egalitarian society has failed without exception.But the movement, the struggle toward that society remains.
